COBB

COBBs are portable grills that originated in Africa. The first COBB grill was created by the organization "Heart and Stroke Foundation" in order to facilitate the daily life of people living in rural areas without electricity, so it can be said that the COBB brand was born from the need to cook more safely without using direct fire. The creators' idea to encourage Africans to use maize as cooking fuel instead of wood or coal has grown into the globally known and recognizable COBB brand.

Gradually, the COBB grill became an integral part of humanitarian programs: the relatively inexpensive first barbecues gradually took over the kitchens of third countries, until finally, after a long development, they spread all over the world with all possible accessories.

The first grill of this brand, a ceramic, clumsy and heavy prototype has become a modern, environmentally friendly, portable and extremely efficient barbecue. The main fuel was dry corn cobs, so it is not for nothing that it is named COBB - it is short for "corn cobs". The name - short, clear, representing the original purpose - has been kept until now, and the fuel used - cobs - has been replaced by coal briquettes.

In December 2001, Time magazine recognized COBB internationally as one of the best inventions of the year. Also, the brand has won several awards for Best Design, South African Innovation, Barbecue Association and others.

The COBB grill, which has improved over several decades, can now grill, roast, smoke, cook or simply heat the desired dish, it is light, does not take up much space - it is useful in farmhouses, terraces, balconies, in nature: fishing or hunting.
